Our Story

Our intent was to create “a beacon of excellence” nationally, when we created the Robbie Fowler Education and Football Academy (FEFA) in 2015.

We have built a local, national and international recognition of excellence through:

Off the pitch, we…

  • Offer comprehensive advice and guidance to ensure students are supported throughout their journey with us.
  • Are a Pearson approved provider, with the quality of education judged by Ofsted as ‘Good’.
  • Are previous winners of the Educate Most Inspirational 16-18 Education Provider Award
  • Are previous winners of the BTEC Global Bronze Award winner in the ‘Global Colleges’ category and silver award winner in the ‘Student’ category.
  • Have supported over 100 students to progress into Higher Education and USA Degree Scholarships
  • Regularly outperform the national average in relation to student results
  • Have a network of partners who provide a diverse range of work experience opportunities

On the pitch, we have…

  • Won two National Cups and the National Football Youth League Title (2021, 2024, 2025) 
  • Won two international football tournaments in Florida (2024) 
  • Won the English Colleges National Football Championship (2018) 
  • Won the Dubai International Super Cup (2018) 
  • Won two National Football Youth Leagues along with many league titles in local and north-west leagues, including the Merseyside League.
  • Supported students to achieve professional and semi-professional football contracts.

These achievements are the culmination of exceptionally hard work and a passion from all staff to drive improvement, which has resulted in the excellent grades our students receive and the fact they are able to progress on their first-choice pathways.

We think it is important to provide context about several of the first students who started with us in 2015. Some of the success stories are as follows:

Josh
First Class (Hons) Science and Football Degree, Masters distinction; Employed by Manchester City as Academy Football Analyst.

Steven
2:1 Sports Coaching Degree; was employed by the Fowler Academy, now employed by FIFA and attended 2022 World Cup.

Luke
First Class (Hons) Degree in Sport Psychology; estate agent for commercial property Dubai

Aiden
2:1 Sport Science; joined the terrorist unit in Met Police

Sophie
2:1 Sport Science; now embarking on Teacher Training.

Nathan
2:1 Sport nutrition; now embarked on a Master’s Degree.

Alanya
Achieved Degree and Masters in USA; now employed in USA.

Alex
Achieved Sports Coaching Degree and employed at Fowler Academy (semi pro football).

Kieron
Was employed by the Fowler Academy and now working within professional football for Man City Academy.

Jamie
Achieved degree in St Peters University (New Jersey) and now completing a Masters in USA playing professional football.

Since our first cohort “graduated” from FEFA in 2017, we have facilitated over 100 students’ pathways into university.

These success stories show the strength and quality of education, from day one, the students received from their time with us. The impact of our curriculum on these students have enabled them to achieve what they never thought possible.
